Gamma Phi donates contest winnings to two causes

Loretto, PA – Members of the Gamma Phi chapter created a float for St. Francis Univerisity’s homecoming parade.  The theme was “Bright Lights, Big City,” and Gamma Phi chose to do a float that commemorated Las Vegas, NV.  The members placed second in the competition winning a sizeable check!

The entire membership voted to put the money to good use and donated the winnings to two different causes.  Half of the money went to buying children’s coats for the Dorothy Day Center, where families around the area may receive coats and other necessities free-of-charge.  The other half went to the American Diabetes Association, in honor of one of the new Project I.M.P.A.C.T. areas.

The donation to the American Diabetes Association was very special to the chapter since one of the members is diabetic and is part of the association as well.  The homecoming parade afforded the chapter the opportunity to have fun, promote school spirit, and help two important organizations close to Gamma Phi.
